The Bliss of Meditation, Greater Than Sexual Pleasure

In common experience, people consider sexual pleasure to be the ultimate pleasure. They don't believe that there could be any greater happiness or bliss beyond that. They think of meditation as a dry, boring activity.

But what is the truth?

To find the truth, we must set aside our preconceived notions, right? Come, let's set aside our preconceptions and explore.

First, let's see what happens in sexual experience

If you observe carefully, at the final moment the mind becomes completely relaxed. There are no thoughts. No past, no future.

In this emptiness, our awareness shines for a moment. That's all.

From a scientific perspective:

During sexual activity, several chemicals are released in our body:

Dopamine - This provides feelings of pleasure and reward. But it drops quickly and makes you crave that experience again.

Oxytocin - This brings feelings of bonding and closeness. But this too is temporary.

Endorphins - These reduce pain and provide pleasure. But they decrease within just a few minutes.

Serotonin - This improves mood, but quickly returns to normal levels.

All these chemicals are released intensely and drop quickly. Therefore, the pleasure is also temporary. Desire begins again.

Now let's see what happens in meditation

You rest in awareness. Thoughts gradually decrease. We reach that same state of emptiness. There, awareness shines.

But remember - this is not temporary. You can rest in awareness for as long as you want.

Scientifically, during meditation:

During meditation, different types of chemicals are released in our brain:

Anandamide - This is called the "bliss molecule." In Sanskrit, "ananda" means supreme bliss. It provides deep, long-lasting happiness. It is released slowly and remains for a long time.

Serotonin - In meditation, this increases steadily and remains for a long time. It provides mental peace and happiness.

Dopamine - In meditation, this is released in a balanced way. There are no extreme ups and downs. Therefore, no addiction develops.

GABA - This is a brain-calming chemical. Anxiety decreases and deep relaxation is achieved.

Endorphins - In meditation, these are released slowly and steadily. This provides long-lasting pleasure.

Melatonin - This improves deep relaxation and sleep quality.

The key difference is - these chemicals are released slowly, steadily, and for a long duration. They don't spike intensely and drop quickly. Therefore, the bliss of meditation is deep and long-lasting.

Now let's compare the two

Sexuality:

  • Temporary - chemicals spike intensely and drop quickly

  • Desire begins again - dopamine drop creates dependency

  • Dependence on external world - need another person, need circumstances

Meditation:

  • Long-lasting contentment - chemicals remain stable for a long time

  • No craving for more - balanced release means no addiction

  • No dependence on external world - you can experience it alone

  • Can be in a state of bliss anytime

  • Can experience inner bliss

Conclusion

Look, the conclusion is left to you. But your bliss is within you - remember this.

But we don't need to become celibates. No dependency either. We can be free. Experiencing the freedom and bliss within ourselves.
